Best Paw Forward is owned and operated out of Westbrook, Maine. Our
mission is to provide dog owner's with up to date training methods and
philosophies, while keeping training exciting and fun for both the owner
and dog.
With these Manners Classes the curriculums have been designed with an
emphasis on Companion/Pet dogs. Allowing owner's simple, effective ways
of teaching their dog good manners, commands and solutions to problem
behaviors.

Has been a certified dog trainer since early 2007. Prior to earning his
certification he apprenticed a local veterinarian and applied animal
behaviorist. During this time he was able to learn various aspects of canine
behavior.
After becoming certified as a trainer, he put his knowledge to work in two
Petco Locations, South Portland and Topsham. Before parting ways with
the Petco franchise, his weekly seminars had the highest sign up rate in
Northern New England. Ricci was also in position to become a mentor
trainer for all new trainers in the State of Maine.
Ricci is also certified by the AKC to evaluate and certify dogs in their
Canine Good Citizen program.
Throughout 2008 Ricci was hired and worked full time at the Animal Refuge
League of Greater Portland. Where he helped create their Canine
Education, Manners for Dogs classes. During his work there he became
certified through the ASPCA in their SAFER behavior assessment. He still
continues to teach for them today.
Also in 2008 Ricci along with coworker Jessica Dolce created SOME Pit!
Southern Maine Pit Bulls. As his true passion in canines is with the bully
breeds. He has fostered and placed over 20 dogs in the last year, a
majority of them Pits. As part of SOME Pit! He is in charge of their training
education classes and sport classes. As the group continues to grow his
efforts will also be used in their Rescue beyond their general event
activities.
